SIM lock

The BlackBerry Curve 9360 was released in Autumn 2011 as the standard successor in the Curve series. It has a QWERTY keypad at the bottom and a 2.4 inch HVGA display at the top. The 9360 is typically network locked when you purchase it, meaning that it will only be able to be used with SIM cards from that same network. Unlocking it means removing that network lock so that you can use it on any network that supports BlackBerry handsets. The Network MEP code is what BlackBerry call the network unlock code (also known as the MEP2).

Switching Networks

Changing networks on the Curve 9360 refers to inserting a SIM card from a different network or carrier. It's not about changing your contract terms, but simply about using that particular handset with a different service, either temporarily or permanently. You may want to be able to do this when you travel to use local SIM cards and get cheaper access to data, or you may want to do it to sell the phone second hand at a higher price.

Different Tools
