How to enter unlock codes on the Gleam

    Turn on the Motorola Gleam with a non accepted SIM card

    When the phone request a "SIM Network Unlock PIN" or "Subsidy Unlock Code" you should type in the code we sent you

    Then press the "Unlock" button and your phone will be unlocked

If any other message is displayed, this may mean that you entered the incorrect unlock code. In that case leave the phone on with that message displayed for at least 45 minutes, and if that doesn't clear it then get in touch with us to tell us what the message is.

SIM lock

Motorola handsets refer to SIM or Network unlocking by a number of different names, most usually subsidy unlocking or removing a subsidy restriction. This of course comes from the subsidy that the network gives to reduce the price when they sell the Motorola Gleam on a contract or a specific network pay as you go package.

However, Mobileunlocked.co.uk will provide the subsidy unlock code without needing to wait until the end of your contract, as we are not affiliated with any particular network. We only provide the network unlock code, and can't find out what your own phone's PIN code is, as that is either set to a default of 0000 or is blank when your receive the device, and can only be changed by the person in possession of the device.

Switching Networks

Switching networks on the Motorola Gleam is easy once you've network unlocked it. All you need to do is insert the SIM card from the relevant new network and switch the phone on. If it doesn't connect automatically, then simply select it from the Networks submenu of the Settings menu on the Gleam.

The ability to change networks will mean that you can change to cheaper tariffs on other networks when you finish the end of your contract. Even if you're still on a contract, you may want to unlock it to have the flexibility of using other SIM cards when travelling, or if you want to sell the device on eBay, in which case it will likely sell for more if it's already unlocked.
