SIM lock

If you purchase a Nokia N8 mobile phone on a contract or pay as you go, it will probably be locked to the network that it is packaged with. That means that you can only use the N8 with SIM cards from that one network. This SIM lock or network lock can be removed using an unlock code. On Nokia handsets you have a limited number of attempts to unlock the phone, so you should only attempt to unlock the Nokia N8 once you have received the verified code.
