    Turn on the Galaxy Nexus with a non accepted SIM Card

    When the phone requests the Network Lock Control Key, enter the MCK we gave you and press Unlock. The phone will probably say that's not accepted, but that's fine.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, originally rumoured as the Google Galaxy Nexus, is usually sold locked to a particular network or carrier company. That restricts use of the Nexus to that network because they subsidise the purchase price. However, consumers have the right to use their phone on any carrier so the network lock can be removed with a code. A Samsung Android phone that is network locked can be detected by the "Network Lock Control Key" message that appears when you turn it on with the SIM you wish to use. If there are any other messages, please contact us before placing an order in case it's a different type of lock, or even a general block which happens when a phone is reported as lost or stolen.

Switching Networks

Changing from one network to another with your Nexus needn't be a permanent decision. Unlocking the phone allows you to switch the SIM card and therefore the network in the phone at any time. However, you may be restricted to just GSM or CDMA networks (particularly relevant in the US) so check whether your phone only supports one or the other type of network. Of course, contact us if you're unsure about anything.
